Resolution Question: The concept of “pinning” and the other is that the “quick launch” portion of the task bar is no longer exists in Windows 7. The concept of creating a short cut still exists, so users can create a shortcut to an application or most Windows objects on the “Desktop” and previous Windows operating systems, you could add a short cut to an application on the quick launch bar. In Windows 7, the only way to get the “quick launch” equivalent is to “pin” the object (e.g. The Aventail VPN launcher) to the taskbar. However not all objects can be “pinned”.
